Chief Content Officer

Christy is a results-oriented leader in the fields of health IT and consumer health education. Her goal is to promote health literacy and help people make better health decisions. As the chief content solutions officer, Christy sets the direction and strategy for Healthwise’s health education content. Christy and her team ensure that Healthwise content meets evolving consumer demands for flexible, relevant content that is clear, trustworthy, visually engaging, user-tested, and supportive of the needs of diverse populations. Christy brings authenticity and innovation to her leadership, and she strongly believes in collaboration, healthy communication, and cross-team problem solving.

Christy is passionate about listening to patients and clinicians to understand their health needs, goals, and challenges. She draws on the patient perspective to help strengthen relationships of care through the solutions Healthwise develops. In collaboration with her talented colleagues at Healthwise, she advocates for patient voice to be infused in everything Healthwise develops, including videos, tools for shared decision making, and health behavior change content.

Christy came to Healthwise with 10 years of experience in international public health and health education, with a special focus on addressing the health literacy needs of Spanish-speaking populations in Latin America and the U.S./Mexico border region.

Christy is a graduate of the “Innovative Health Care Leader: From Design Thinking to Personal Leadership” executive program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She has a Master of Public Health from San Diego State University and a BA in international studies and Spanish.
