Sonika Mathur is a seasoned healthcare leader with over 20 years of experience building and scaling businesses and functions towards high growth. Her areas of expertise include leading complex healthcare transformation initiatives and driving patient-centric care models at the intersections of health outcomes, patient engagement, digital health, and clinical workflows.
Most recently, Sonika was the SVP of Marketing, Member Engagement and Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) at Cityblock Health, where she was accountable for building, maintaining, and strengthening trust in underserved communities across all care settings (virtual, in person, telephonic, and digital). She led teams that leveraged behavioral science and insights to strengthen the brand, member and customer awareness, outreach, call center operations, and longitudinal engagement programming throughout the end-to-end member journey—all critical to successful value-based care delivery models.
Prior to Cityblock, Sonika spent eleven years at Elsevier Clinical Solutions, a global business that provides evidence-based information and analytics to clinicians and patients, in three key executive roles including VP of Strategy and M&A, SVP and General Manager, and Global Chief Content Officer for Digital Products. Among her accomplishments were conceiving, building, and scaling a new vertical in Patient Engagement as SVP & General Manager (GM), achieving sustainable double-digit growth.
Sonika also served as a Management Consultant at Deloitte and other boutique health care consulting firms supporting Life Sciences, Government Health, and Providers as well as a Health Outcomes researcher.
Sonika holds a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University as well as a B.A. in Biology and a B.A. in Psychology from The George Washington University.
