Robert “Bob” Kyte has worked on behalf of nonprofit missions for the majority of his career. As the chief executive officer of Healthwise, he returns to an organization he was with for more than fifteen years as General Counsel and outside Counsel. He is a leader passionate about developing people, helping them rise to their full potential in support of a greater cause. Bob’s previous time with Healthwise cultivated his role as an advocate for putting people at the center of care and led to a life-long pursuit of bettering the health care system.
Prior to rejoining Healthwise. Bob served as the President and CEO of the nonprofit Adventist Risk Management, Inc., joining the organization in December 2009 where he helped the organization reduce costs and improve financial performance.
In his time with Healthwise, Bob guided the organization through complex legal issues, including contract negotiations, governance, document preparations, worldwide licensing agreements, and commercial transactions. Along with the management of strategic business and legal matters, Bob’s responsibilities included monitoring the nonprofit status of Healthwise and extending the reach of its services and products. He served as an advisor on the legal components of all major business transactions and dispute resolutions and the protection of intellectual property. His legal expertise enables him and his team to keep the corporate, client, vendor, and employee relationships balanced and mutually successful. From admission to the bar in 1990 to 2005, he served as Outside Counsel for Healthwise.
Since 2005, he has also served as the General Counsel for the World Headquarters of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church located in Washington, D.C. His work there gave him the opportunity to travel to many countries. He has more than 25 years working for Pacific Press, starting out in the retail division and moving into corporate sales and marketing. Prior to his work in Silver Spring, Maryland, he served as the President, Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel for Pacific Press Publishing Association in Boise, Idaho, from 1989 to 2005.
Bob is a member of the Idaho State Bar, The United States District Court for the District of Idaho, The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the American Bar Association. Bob is a graduate of Walla Walla University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Marketing. He earned his Juris Doctor in 1989 from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College, in Portland, Oregon.
