It is hard to quantify a feeling, but when our Fortune 500 clients come to visit, they can feel the difference right away. The mission and culture are visible in the faces of our employees, and our words demonstrate the passion we have for the work we do every day. They soon realize that we respect their needs, work as part of their own teams, and will “do the right thing” for them, every time.
Our headquarters are set at the base of the foothills in Boise, Idaho, and as you walk into the building, no matter the direction you enter from, you encounter the Healthwise culture and values.
If you enter from the west, as you crest the top of the stairs, you walk through three vermillion-colored steel rings, each one representing a tenet of our culture: Respect, Teamwork, and Do the Right Thing. If you enter on the east side of the building, you walk past the Healthwise wind sculpture, a towering steel structure with stacked petal blades that represent the fluidity of health care. It’s anchored by our nonprofit mission of helping people make better health decisions, and the organization’s commitment to innovation and putting all our resources into solutions that help achieve that mission.
Employees are surrounded by cultural symbols that support and encourage us to engage with each other and our clients, with our culture and values as the anchor for our way of being. When clients and employees have positive, shared experiences that create great outcomes, those stories are shared at staff meetings and through external communications.
Founded in 1975, with the same mission as mentioned above, Healthwise has a track record for creating health content and decision-support tools that are easy to understand, engaging, and motivating. Healthwise has been unwavering in its dedication to helping clients achieve their immediate patient education goals. We believe that people are the most important part of the nonprofit mission, both internally and externally. And we recognize that investing in our employees and their satisfaction is key to driving innovative solutions and navigating emerging challenges.
Staff come together frequently as a company to assess and improve our internal culture, find ways to work smarter and serve clients better, and help each other meet the demands of work and of life.
The caliber of Healthwise people directly correlates with the business of understanding our clients’ needs. Our steadfast commitment to the same mission for over 40 years has been at the heart of the success of Healthwise.
